Our Story

Hi, I am Umaima, mother of two boys and co-founder of Kozie, an essentials-baby clothing brand designed to nurture a sense of connection and comfort, inspired by embracing every moment of motherhood’s journey.

I remember those early days, the whirlwind of emotions, the sleepless nights, and the endless diaper changes. Yet, amidst the chaos, there were moments of pure magic - the first smile, the first coo, the first giggle, the first attempt to crawl, the reaching for your arms, the endless kisses and hugs. Each milestone was a precious gem, a testament to the extraordinary journey of motherhood. A testament to the love, effort, and time I pour into our children.

As my children grew, I found myself yearning to capture the essence of those early days, to preserve the memories that would forever shape my heart. It was then that the idea for Kozie was born. Together with my partner, whose decade of experience in the textile industry gave us a deep understanding of fabrics and production, we embarked on a mission to create a baby brand that aligned with our values of simplicity, comfort, and functionality. 

More than just a clothing brand, Kozie is a reflection of my journey. It's a celebration of the love, laughter, and little moments that fill our lives. It’s the acknowledgement that motherhood isn't always sunshine and rainbows. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or even a little lost at times. 

I want to empower other mothers, to remind them that they are not alone in this beautiful chaos. To encourage them to embrace the full spectrum of motherhood, from the messy days to the magical moments. Let’s celebrate the good, the hard, and the in-between, because it’s in these raw, authentic moments that the true magic of motherhood resides.

To assure the highest quality for our baby products and ensure they perfectly meet the needs of little ones, we've taken an unconventional approach. Instead of relying on ready-made fabrics, we've decided to create our own from the ground up. 

Every garment is meticulously crafted using only natural fabrics, ensuring the utmost comfort and safety for your little one. This means carefully selecting premium yarns from trusted suppliers, overseeing the fabric creation process, and choosing the ideal dye houses. This hands-on approach gives us complete control over color selection and fabric finishing, ensuring the use of only gentle, non-toxic materials. While this is a more time-consuming process, it's our commitment to providing parents with the best possible products for their babies.
